MARITEC TANKER MANAGEMENT: a new addition to the Rubis Energie fleet

On 12 October 2022, Maritec Tanker Management proudly took delivery of a new vessel, the DEMERARA, 9,150 DWT IMO II, for Rubis Eastern Caribbean (REC).

The DEMERARA is a sister ship to the MORBIHAN, which was commissioned a year ago. She will also be positioned in the Caribbean to reinforce the Group’s logistics and supplies.

At the end of September, a new bitumen tanker, the BITU RIVER, left the shipyards for West Africa and by the end of October, the bitumen tanker VIVEKA will be withdrawn from the fleet for demolition at a ship recycling yard in Bangladesh. The VIVEKA was built in 1994 and was purchased by the Group in 2014. Over the past 8 years she has mainly sailed in West Africa to supply our bitumen terminals in Nigeria and Togo.

With these changes in the Rubis Energie fleet, the number of vessels managed by Maritec Tanker Management is now 8.
